Utah State Constitution Now Digitally Available

Thanks to Gina Strack for blogging about the digitization of the Utah State Constitution. I first received the news via her blog post at http://archivesresearch.wordpress.com/2011/01/19/utah-state-constitution-online/. I highly recommend this blog, frequently updated by the Utah State Archives, for important information on researching in Utah.

I just finished the Advanced Methodology track at the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy. We were reminded that for accurate information we MUST go back to the original laws, statutes, and constitutions. Only there can we fully understand the laws and how they impacted the lives of our ancestors. Laws of majority, guardianship, dower rights, and more will affect the accuracy of our research.

Thank you, Utah State Archives, for making this a whole lot easier! Access the digital constitution here: http://archives.utah.gov/digital/3214.htm.

Happy Researching!
~Christy
