SLIG 2020 Themed Events, Courses and Lodging Updates

Themed Events: In concert with the SLIG 2020 theme, “Honoring the Past, Embracing the Future,” SLIG and Academy will feature the following special events:
  • General session keynote, Monday January 13th: “A Look at Genealogy’s Past, Present, and Future” with David E. Rencher, AG, CG, FUGA, FIGRS.
  • Silver Anniversary Banquet, Friday, January 17th, a look at SLIG past, present, and future.
  • Welcome Breakfast and Commemorative Event, Monday, January 20th, held in honor of the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr., featuring members of the Debra Bonner Unity Gospel Choir.
  • Academy Closing Luncheon keynote, Friday, January 24th: Kory Meyerink, MLS, AG, FUGA.
Tickets to these events are included with course registration for the related program. Participants may also purchase guest tickets as needed.
Courses: We recently added a second session of Barbara Vines Little’s Virginia course; a few seats remain open through the registration system. A handful of seats also remain available in many other amazing courses - for both SLIG and Academy. Don’t forget to keep your UGA membership current - your $35 investment could save up to $150 in combined SLIG/Academy discounts.
Lodging: The lodging block is in the process of being expanded one more time to accommodate those who continue to register. If you haven’t been able to obtain what you need, please check back November 1st, or email hospitality@slig.ugagenealogy.org for assistance.
