Digital Presence and Resume Building for the Professional Genealogist

Janell Esplin, Ancestry ProGenealogists

During this workshop, we will discuss the importance of having a professional digital presence for genealogical researchers. We will look at the differences between LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms and spend time creating and updating existing profiles, giving you the confidence needed to find the right professional space for you. We will also discuss and review best practices around your professional genealogical resume and what should and should not be included on this resume. We will go over formatting and bringing your professional experience together with your genealogical research experience. When you leave this workshop you will have a great LinkedIn profile and a resume to submit to any company looking to hire professional genealogists!
